Bachelor of Biosciences (expiring)
Application form
Applications for the "successor" Bachelor's program in Biology
The course can only be started in the winter semester
The standard period of study for the Bachelor's degree course is 6 semesters. The degree programme provides a broad basic education in natural sciences and biology as well as soft skills relevant to the profession and leads to a first professionally qualifying degree. The degree program can then be continued with one of three 4-semester, English-language Master's degree programmes.(Master Biology, discontinued: MPBioTec, CellNeuro, EcoDiv)
In the first two years of study, students receive a broad basic education in the main subjects of biology and the supplementary subjects of mathematics, chemistry and physics. The third year of study allows students to specialize in two areas of study of their choice, as well as a non-biological subject. Internships (learning by doing) form a significant part of the course, which is theoretically underpinned by lectures and seminars. The work placement gives students an insight into professional practice. The course concludes with the completion of a Bachelor's thesis and is a prerequisite for the Master's degree in BioSciences/Biological Sciences.
