Teaching and Degree Programmes
In general terms, there are two types of Biology degree programmes at the University of Kaiserslautern. The majority of students follow Bachelor or Master programmes in Biology resp. general Biology in Bachelor programme and specialisation in master programme in Microbial and Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Ecologyv, whereas the remaining students are in Bachelor or Master programmes for teacher training. The following internet pages give information about all courses of the Faculty of Biology. The information is designed both for current students and for people interested in studying in Kaiserslautern. The structure of the degree programmes is shown in summaries detailing the courses to be attended in each semester and there are detailed module handbooks for each programme. In addition, the examination regulations can also be consulted. Detailed information about the time, place and content of individual courses can be found via the links to the "KIS" catalogue of courses and to the pages of the different groups of the Faculty.
Students can make appointments to obtain individual guidance about the degree programmes. This can be useful to get an overview at the beginning of a programme or if problems crop up during study.
