Biological research projects & facilities

Our research is fundamental and knowledge-oriented. It provides the basis for numerous applications and solutions to current global challenges.

16 biologyworking groups are helping to decipher the basis of diseases using biomedical approaches and to ensure food and supply security in times of climate change.

There are also a large number of externally funded research projects. Third-party funders include the EU, the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
