Interdisciplinary key qualifications are to be acquired in the department's degree programmes as part of the "soft skills" courses. These can be, for example, seminars on academic writing, presentation techniques, rhetoric, entrepreneurial thinking and action, entrepreneurship, negotiation strategies, language courses, etc.

Many of these can be found as courses in the KIS system at RPTU in Kaiserslautern.
