“Biology” (from the Greek bios, meaning “life,” and logos, meaning “study”) is a multifaceted natural science that uses state-of-the-art techniques and diverse research approaches to describe and continue to uncover the mysteries of life. At the RPTU Department of Biology, faculty and staff from 18 research groups—ranging from modern and molecular fields to classical organismic subjects—are currently engaged in research and teaching.
