18 biologyworking groups contribute to deciphering the basis of diseases using biomedical approaches and ensuring food and supply security in times of climate change.

There are a large number of externally funded research projects at the Department of Biology. Third-party funding bodies include the EU, the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
