More than 20 criteria are included in the current ranking. In addition to facts about studies, teaching and research, these include, in particular, student surveys on study conditions. Specific criteria such as supervision, support during studies or for studying abroad, the range of courses, the organization of studies or examinations are assessed. Room facilities, practical relevance and the IT infrastructure are also assessed. The questions are then grouped into four categories. In three out of four categories, Biology was ranked in the top group compared to all other participating universities and once just behind the top group in the middle group ("General study situation" (3rd place), "Support at the beginning of studies" (21st place), "Course offerings" (8th place), laboratory practicals (22nd place). The teaching of academic, methodological and interdisciplinary skills was particularly praised.
We are very pleased with this positive feedback from our students. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to take part in the ranking. We are happy to take on board the points of criticism in order to further improve our courses.
