Hello first-year students!
For you, the start of your studies means the start of a new phase in your life.
To ensure that this goes smoothly and that you can get to know your fellow students quickly, we have planned a few events for the first few weeks. We hope that many of you will take part and wish you lots of success and fun with your studies. If you want to get used to the university infrastructure in advance, you can find the introduction to the online systems here! But don't worry if it doesn't all go smoothly, because we have planned an information event for you at which we will be happy to help you with any problems you may have!

Before the start of the semester, the math pre-course takes place so that all students are brought up to the same level, you can register for this here!

We have created a course for all biology students in OLAT. This makes it possible to exchange ideas and make contacts with your fellow students centrally. However, it is particularly important that we can send you messages via OLAT so that you can stay up to date if something spontaneously changes in the plans. All communication and information exchange with you will take place via our course. It is therefore essential that you first activate your RHRK account, then log in to OLAT and then select Freshmenhere. The access code for our course is"FSBio". If you have any problems with the registration, you can send us an email to fsbio@rptu.de.

Events

01.10
Fresher's breakfast and FSR welcome
On 01.10. we from the student council will welcome you from 07:40 in building 13, room 360. There we will briefly introduce ourselves and give you the first information on how to successfully participate in all freshman events and get off to a good start in everyday university life. The whole thing will be accompanied by a cozy vegan and vegetarian breakfast, where you can also make your first contacts with your fellow students. Tea and coffee will of course also be available

Information event
In the afternoon, we will answer all your questions at an information event. We will also give you tips for starting your studies and a detailed introduction to the university's online services, such as QIS, KIS, etc. The event will take place at 2 p.m. in building 24, room 102.

02.10.
Campus rally
On 02.10. you will get to know the university at a campus rally. In small groups, you will move around the university grounds, visit various stations and complete games and other tasks. Meeting point is at 13:00 in the parking lot in front of building 13.

Mini party
From around 6 p.m., we cordially invite you to our mini party in Building 13, Rooms 360/370. After the Campus Rallye, you can drop by directly and let the evening come to a relaxed end. You can expect a delicious vegan and vegetarian finger food buffet as well as a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Good music and drinking games will of course be provided!

06.10
Humbergturmwanderung
On 06.10. we will take you on a beer hike to the Humbergturm. The meeting point is at 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Building 13, where you will be given enough beer and non-alcoholic drinks for the walk, so make sure you bring a rucksack with you in which you can carry as much as you want to drink! We'll play some fun games on the way, and in the evening we'll walk back to the university together. There we'll round off the day with more drinks

08.10
Games afternoon
On 08.10. we cordially invite you to a games afternoon in building 13, rooms 360/370. The event starts at 13:00. In one room there will be various board games, while in the other there will be a big game of charades - so you can choose whatever you feel like playing. Drinks and snacks will of course be provided!

09.10
Pub crawl
On 09.10. we will take you on a pub crawl through the city center of Lautr. We will meet at 19:00 at Schillerplatz and then go to different pubs in groups until we all come together again in the final pub. Here we'll round off the evening until open end.

14.10.
Chill & Grill
On 14.10, the Chill & Grill will take place in the afternoon at the Unisport barbecue area. There you can prepare your own barbecue food. Drinks will be available to buy on site and good music will also be provided. The event is aimed at first-year students from all departments and is not organized by us, but is a great opportunity to get to know other students in a relaxed atmosphere.

17.10-19.10
Fresher's Weekend
From Friday, October 17 to Sunday, October 19, we cordially invite you to our Fresher's Weekend! You can expect a varied program with lots of opportunities! On October 17th we will meet in the 13er building from 5 pm for the start of our final freshmen weekend. We start with a pub quiz on Friday to keep up the pretense of learning, while Saturday is all about fun with swing golfing and an Olympics. We will meetat 10 a.m. on the forecourt of Kaiserslautern's main railway station. There will be plenty of drinks of all kinds available throughout the day. For Saturday, we would ask you to bring your own barbecue food or to buy your own during the course of Saturday (there would also be enough time for this).

21.10
Professor*innen-Café
The Professor*innen-Café will take place on October 21 from 15:00 in building 13, room 360. Here you have the opportunity to make first contacts with the professors of biology and other departments in a relaxed atmosphere. There will be coffee and cake, including vegan cakes.
