The Center for MS Analytics is organized by the departments of Molecular Genetics, Molecular Biotechnology, Systems Biology, and Systems Plant Metabolism at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. It develops and applies state-of-the-art proteomics technologies to investigate protein expression, modification, and function in response to biological perturbations, as well as metabolic function and regulation. The available technology includes advanced protein and ultra-high-pressure peptide separation, chromatography-based metabolite separation, metabolic flux analysis, chemical and affinity-based enrichment techniques, as well as multiple mass spectrometry platforms, including Orbitrap and Triple-TOF instruments, QQQ, and ion mobility platforms. In collaboration with the Department of Computational Systems Biology, the center provides customized desktop and web-based software tools for the analysis of proteomics data.
