The specialisation Ecology provides a deepend, scientifically founded and research-oriented education in the fields of ecology, evolution and diversity of microorganisms of all three domains of life. The students acquire knowledge in evolution and functioning/significance of biodiversity and will learn techniques to investigate mechanisms to identify and explain spatiotemporal distribution patterns of symbiotic communities and populations. The training employs cutting-edge technologies to address ecological questions and their analysis at different levels.
