Textbooks for the lecture

There are many good textbooks on cell biology, which differ in their focus.
Various textbooks will be introduced in the lecture. The following two textbooks are particularly suitable:

Alberts, Lehrbuch der molekularen Zellbiologie, Wiley-VCH, 4th ed. (2012), €72.90

Pollard, Earnshaw, Cell Biology, 2nd edition, only English, ca 80 €

Documents for the lecture

Here you will find the material for the lecture. The slides will be updated in the course of the semester, so there may be deviations. It is therefore advisable to download the lecture slides directly before the lecture.

You can watch the video recordings of the lecture in WS 2014/2015 under the following link

https://videoportal.uni-kl.de/public/?q=/node/19/%26r=Zellbiologie%201%20WS14/15%26s=WS14/15

on the university's video portal using the known password.

Nevertheless, it is highly recommended that you attend the lecture regularly and that you prepare and review the exam continuously in one of the specified textbooks. This prevents a learning collapse before the exams at the end of the semester

In preparation, please review the entire lecture. In the lecture, we will go through typical exam questions
together and thus repeat the contents of the lecture.

The movie from the lecture, in which the inside of the cell is impressively animated, is called "The Inner Life of a Cell".
It was produced by studiodaily and Harvard University. It can be found on the Internet at http://www.studiodaily.com/main/technique/tprojects/6850.html

The videos of past lectures are available online. You can watch them at:

on the university's video portal using the password you know.

Exam results:

In the past, we have always published the results of the exams as a pdf list here on the homepage in order to inform students of their grades/points as early as possible. Due to complaints from the Biology student council, we will no longer be doing this until further notice. As soon as your grades have been posted by the Examinations Office, you will be able to see your results in your QIS portal.
