ISE SYMPOSIUM 2021

The International Society of Endocytobiology (ISE), founded in 1983, aims to promote research of endocytobiology and (endo)symbiosis, and supports the understanding of symbiotic interactions and of antisymbiotic processes (like intertaxonic combination) at the cellular level (e.g. physiological, biochemical and genetical aspects). The field embraces both the significance of these interactions for host and symbiont, and their relevance to the origin and evolution of pro- and eukaryotic cells, including exogenosomes (cell organelles like chloroplasts) and exogenons (interspecific transferred whole genes or gene fragments), and furthermore related aspects of organismic and cellular biology (see https://www.endocytobiology.org).

When and where?

This year's ISE Symposium will be held at the TU Kaiserslautern in Germany from September 29th to October 1, 2021. Kaiserslautern is a city of about 100,000 people in southwestern Germany and is easily accessible from many destinations within Europe.

We now decided to hold this symposium on site with all sanitary measures required, depending on the status of the pandemic. This means that our conference capacity is restricted to 45 participants. So register early to make sure you can participate. However, in case you are not able to join in presence, you will be able to listen to the talks via Zoom. Questions will be possible in the chat and asked to the speaker via the session chair. Online talks in a hybrid format will not be possible. If you prefer to participate online, please register as well and indicate that you will join online. All information regarding program and the link will be emailed in time.

Please inform as as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration, so we can free up your space for other participants.

Confirmed invited Speakers are:

Johannes Herrmann

Ingrid Lafontaine

Maria Mittag

Uwe Maier

Ekkehard Neuhaus

Danja Schünemann

Markus Schwarzländer

Francis-André Wollman
