The "Biology Day" is an information event organised by the Faculty of Biology for school pupils from the tenth class upwards from all higher schools ("Gymnasium" and "integrierte Gesamtschulen") in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz. A rich assortment of lectures and workshops gives insight into the fascinating science and the exciting study programmes in Biology. Visits to the lecture theatres, practical laboratories, research laboratories and also the refectory ("Mensa") give a first impression of student life.

The "Biology Day" unites theory and practice around the general theme of Biology and helps school pupils with their choices of school courses as well as choice of their degree study programme. The latter is supported by special lectures in which the different Biology degree programmes are outlined and the career prospects for biologists are discussed.
