Defence of Christelle Rutz
Last big event of the year 2024: Dr. Christelle Rutz successfully defended her PhD thesis with the title “Assembly of the giant genome of the noble crayfish and genome evolution of Decapoda”. This giant genome caused a lot of delays and headaches for Christelle, but she managed to deliver a decent draft assembly and a very good basis for our team to finalize this reference genome, which will be a milestone for non-model invertebrate genomics. Thank you, Christelle, we are happy you will continue working with us to finish this reference genome, and congratulations for your successfull defense!
